Donna L. (Green) East, 73 of Willard, Mo. passed away in her home on Sunday morning, August 21, 2011, surrounded by her loving family, following a six month illness.
Donna was born in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, growing up there and graduating from El Dorado Springs High School in 1956. She attended Southwest Missouri State University. She was a homemaker and had been employed with the Shawnee Mission School District. She was a longtime faithful and active member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Willard, Mo., where she was active with the Presbyterian Women. She was involved with various organizations and was for many years a voting judge on local election committees.
Donna Green and Richard East were united in marriage on August 24, 1958. To this union 2 children were born. Together they were privileged to share 53 years. She was preceded in death by her parents O. Lee and Jewell Fox East.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, of the home; son, Richard "Rick" and wife Lori East of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; daughter, Katherine "Renee" East of Overland Park, Kansas; 3 grandchildren, Katherine "Katie" Theresa East, Andrew Wacker and Christine "Tina" Wacker; sister, Sherry and husband Ed Morlan of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; 2 nephews, York Morlan of Blue Springs, Mo. and Tad and wife Rebecca "Becki" Morlan of Willard, Mo. and 2 grand-nephews, Jacob and Caleb Morlan.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Willard, Mo., with Rev. Lorraine Dill officiating. Interment following in Wesley Cemetery, Willard, Mo. Under the care and direction of Wilson Brim Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove, Mo.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in the parlor of the church prior to services.
Memorial Contributions may be given in Donna's memory to the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
