Roger F. Peterson, 72, of Springfield, MO, received his wings and was lifted to Heaven on Feb. 25, 2009. He was born to Emery and Margaret “Peggy” Peterson June 14, 1936 in Miller, KS. He graduated from Emporia High School, Emporia, KS. He retired from Sweetheart Cup Co.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emery, brother, Leonard, and in-laws Adolph and Clara Burri.

He is survived by his wife, Carol , his mother, Peggy, children, Brenda (Dan) Wilhelm, Denise (Jerry) Andersen, and Kevin (Lee Anne) Peterson, grandchildren, Nicholas and Kathryn Black, Lucas and Tessa Peterson and step-grandchildren, Colter, Cailee & Cody Andersen, extended family, many friends and a wonderful church family.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. John’s Hospital, Mercy Villa, and St. John’s Hospice for their wonderful care.

There will be a visitation, Fri., Feb. 27, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. A memorial service will be Sat., Feb. 28, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the Willard Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Willard Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, 800 AB Highway, Willard.
