Fred was giving the
children's message (about God's never-ending
grace) at Trinity Church United Methodist. He brought along
several food items with expiration dates, and explained about
shelf life and how you have to use items before the expiration
date. One food item had an expiration date that was in a week,
one was two weeks... for the Twinkies, the shelf life was over a
year. One child got the message, exclaiming, "God's love lasts
longer than a Twinkie!" -- Cathie Kreigh (wife of Fred) of
Kendallville, Indiana
Of all people, children
are the most imaginative
Thomas Macaulay
The child-heart is open
to any and all avenues; an angel would no more surprise it than
a man. In dreams, in visions, in visible and invisible ways, God
can talk and reveal Himself to a child; but this profound yet
simple way is lost forever-immediately we lose the open,
childlike nature.
Oswald Chambers
Children know the grace
of God better than most of us, they see the world the way the
morning brings it back to them, new and born and fresh and
wonderful.
Archibald MacLeish
Every child born into
the world is a new thought of God, an ever-fresh and radiant
possibility.

They are idols of
hearts and households; they are angels of God in disguise; His
sunlight still sleeps in their tresses, His glory still gleams
in their eyes; those truants from home and heaven they have made
me more manly and mild; and I know how Jesus could liken the
kingdom of God to a child.
Charles Dickens
The soul is healed by
being with children.
Fyodor Dostoevsky
At the same time came
the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the
kingdom of heaven?
And Jesus called a
little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say
unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children,
ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore
shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the
greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoso shall receive
one such little child in my name receiveth me.
Matthew 18: 1-5
